Called into Community

This Sunday we will close out our summer service series and reflect on how our mission statement calls us into community. Led by Michelle Saville.

Summary:

This sermon explores the Unitarian Universalist mission to foster healing and growth through the power of interconnected community. The speaker emphasizes that true belonging requires courageous vulnerability, as members must trust one another with their personal narratives and inherent imperfections. Rather than rejecting those who make mistakes, the sermon advocates for “calling people in” to promote accountability through loving dialogue and restorative grace. By sharing both profound grief and collective joy, individuals find themselves supported by a network of compassion that extends beyond simple gestures. Ultimately, the sermon suggests that the strength to transform the world begins with the intentional choice to remain present and engaged with one another.
