One service: 10:00am, in-person. As we look across the world’s religions, one common virtue is Generosity: the idea of giving of yourself in service to others (or sometimes in service to the religion itself). But different religions – or denominations or sects – inspire generosity in different ways. Some see it as a step on the path to enlightenment or fulfillment. Some pitch it as an obligation, a social contract. Some compel it through fear (of, for example, eternal damnation). Some require it as a criterion for membership. Very often the question asked is, “how generous can you be?” But what if we changed the order of those words and asked “how can you be generous?” What possibilities does that open us up to? And how does that help us to nurture and heal ourselves, each other and our world? Led by Jeff Erikson.
November’s theme: The Gift of Generosity. Come and be in community, see friendly faces, feel welcomed, remember you are loved. Your loved ones are welcome to join our service.
