As we head into the final stretch of the election, we move into the next chapter of whatever comes next. What does our faith call us to? What is the difference between taking risk and being courageous and how will we respond when events dictate we practice what we preach?

RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION GROUPS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

We will be offering the following Religious Exploration Groups for children and youth on Sundays this year: 

Pre-K to 1st Grade: 9:15-9:45 with Ms. Wendy

2nd Grade to 5th Grade: 11:15am-12pm 

Middle School Jr. Youth Group: 1-2pm 

High School Sr. Youth Group: 12:30-2pm on the second Sunday of every month

This Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the RE Space:

9:15 am – The Littles Group (Pre-K through Grade 1) 

Listening deeply to the memories and stories of grandparents and wise ones helps us learn how to live our lives. When we lose a wise one, it helps us know that we are not alone. Please have a paper folded into a card, markers and an envelope ready.

11:15 am – Children’s Group (Grade 2 through Grade 5) 

We will listen to “Grandad’s Prayers for the Earth” together and share stories about our loved ones. Listening to our elder’s journeys, helps us navigate our own. Bring a picture to share, if  you have one. We will be discussing loved ones who have passed, as well as loved ones still here with us, so the day could feel hard for some of our friends.

1pm – Jr. Youth Group (Middle School) 

Join us for Social Justice Sunday! We will be working together on the book, “This Book is Anti-Racist.” Together we will learn how to wake up, take action and do the work.

Sunday, November 8 from 12:30-2:00pm on Zoom
All Youth, Grades 9 and up, are invited to join with the Youth Group at UUCL for our monthly joint Youth Group meeting with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sterling. We will be meeting online and diving deeper into the theme “Healing”.
