9:15 amThe Littles Group (Pre-K through Grade 1)

When children’s books only have white characters, people of color are erased. To fight against racism, we will tell stories by BIPOC authors, with BIPOC characters. Afterwards, can you show us your favorite book?

11:15 amChildren’s Group (Grade 2 through Grade 5)

We will talk a little about diversity in children’s books and then we will hear a story about a time in UU history when deep listening changed a decision that was racist and harmful to BIPOC people. Afterwards we will learn a new meditation technique and then play the name game!

1pmJr. Youth Group (Middle School)

Join us for Social Justice Sunday! We will be working together on the book, “This Book is Anti-Racist.” Together we will learn how to wake up, take action and do the work.

All Youth, Grades 9 and up, are invited to join with the Youth Group via for our monthly joint Youth Group meeting with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sterling. We will be meeting online and diving deeper into the theme, Deep Listening.
