Each month our congregation contributes one half of all undesignated collections received during services to support a specific organization or charity that aligns with, and advances, our UU principles.
Love in Action
Social Justice
To advance social justice, UUCL continually offers opportunities for its members and friends to get involved in social action, through ongoing volunteer opportunities, one-time events, and other efforts that advance our UU values in the Loudoun community and beyond. In addition to the activities detailed below, this may include taking a stand as a congregation, pursuing grants for special projects and participating in vigils and other non-violent activities designed to build understanding and respect among people of diverse religious, ethnic, racial and sexual identities.
UUA CSAI – Undoing Intersectional White Supremacy
The CSAI is an invitation for congregations, including ours, to take a topic of concern and engage it, reflect on it, learn about it, respond to it, comment on it, and take action - each in their own way.
All Ages Read Together
AART provides free programs to children in Loudoun and Fairfax counties who are at risk of entering kindergarten in need of extensive remedial instruction that can cost an extra $3,500 per child annually.
Green Action
Having adopted a Climate Change Resolution, our Congregation has a deep awareness of our climate crisis and the deep environmental injustices of our time.
Pride Service
One of the highlights of the calendar year, the UUCL Pride Service celebrates and supports our LGBTQ+ community.
Support and Outreach
UUCL has a number of ways and resources for the congregation to support each other, the community, and the wider world.
Chalice Lighter
As a member of a UU congregation, a Chalice Lighter is one who supports the UU congregation community.
