The Case for Empathy

The concept of empathy tends to get a bad rap, often being seen as a cheap version of compassion with decidedly more ambiguous benefits. But our guest minister, John Monroe, will explore how empathy is essential to our individual lives and to the spiritual health of a faith community.

Celebrating Imbolc

Also called Brigid’s Day, Imbolc is a traditional Gaelic festival marking the turn of the Wheel of the Year. All ages are welcome to join in stories, candle lighting and blessings from the Triple Goddess.

Burning Bowl Ritual

One multi-generational service for this annual ritual at 10 am. Join us for a morning of reflection, meditation and new beginnings as we say goodbye to 2019 and welcome the new year — and decade — that awaits.

NOTE: There will be no Religious Exploration classes December 29. All children and youth are invited to join everyone in the sanctuary. Nursery care will be available.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Services at 5 and 7 pm

“And Heaven and Nature Sing!” Celebrate the returning light and spirit of the season. We recognize the importance of joy in these days as we celebrate the 300th anniversary of the carol “Joy to the World.”  The luminarias will be lighted outside and candles will be lighted inside. We carry that light forth into the December darkness as we await the new year.
